My wife Teresa and I are excited to graciously open our hearts to you through this new church because we realize the grace and forgiveness that has been extended to us by God and through so many people. My own heart knows how little I deserve to be in a position such as this and yet I am eternally grateful that God is One who sees the good in us when it’s hard to find it in ourselves. I promise to do my best for God and my best in serving you the way He wants me to. I can’t wait to meet you and shake your hand. It is truly a pleasure for me to be called your pastor.
Summit Community Church is a place where I feel safe to learn and grow as I explore life. The Lord knows I make my share of mistakes, but I have never felt ashamed of them while with this group of people. They love me for who I am, encourage me to get up again, and help me learn from my situations. Through doing so, I continue to grow into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Summit is a place to be accepted, learn about God’s truth and enjoy each other’s company.
I am thrilled to be a part of Summit Community bringing my God-given talents and creativeness to the planning and artistic teams. It has been exciting to be a part of something where I have witnessed God’s blessings first hand. I have watched Summit grow through prayer to become a place where everyone feels a part and where they are able to obtain a closer relationship with the Lord.
We are excited to be a part of Summit Community Church because we share a passion for communicating the truth about God through the creative arts. It is a pleasure to head up the music at Summit as well as incorporate various visual arts. The music, with a foundation of acoustic guitar, is relevant but not over the top. You will hear a collage of music from Coldplay to Jars of Clay and hopped up hymns to cutting edge choruses. Our hearts strongly desire to connect with you as we explore a wide variety of music and art together.
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home. My father is a retired minister following 50 years of faithful service to the Lord. I became active in church leadership during my college years and have served in men’s ministry and as an elder in another church. My wife, Cindy, and I have served for years in churches and have always been blessed by those experiences. Now, I am honored to provide spiritual counsel and accountability to Hank and Summit Community Church. I am excited about the vision God has given Hank and look forward to seeing God fulfill His purpose through His people.
Being a part of a ministry is something I have done my entire life. Serving on several Christian boards over the years and actually being in the ministry over 30 years has been an adventure of excitement and fulfillment. I am constantly reminded that it is people who last for eternity and that ministry is for the people. It is good to be a part of this new and challenging ministry of Summit Community Church, whose heartbeat is designed to meet people’s needs.
